What will I do in my first 90 days, one-year and at the end of the term?

90 days:

  • Decline pension as a County Supervisor
  • Meet with people & remain accessible to develop a list of priorities
  • ID list of obstacles to business development
  • Propose amendment to County’s strategic plan that includes business development
  • Propose a “business facilitator” position in the County Executive Officer’s office to help businesses that will create jobs, and fund it out of my salary and office budget.
  • ID pension reform goals

One year:

  • Begin labor pension reform negotiations
  • Create pilot program to waive business development fees
  • Enhance campaign finance reform
  • Emphasize positive business environment through
    • County staff’s attitude
    • Freeze on onerous regulations
    • General plan update priorities
  • End “earmark” budget practice

End of my First Term:

  • Create “pay-for-performance” program for County managers
  • Performance metrics with true accountability
  • ID hard dollar cost efficiencies
  • Improve relationships with all stakeholders
  • Reduce carbon footprint by increasing East Co services
  • Hold myself accountable before deciding for re-election
