What will I do in my first 90 days, one-year and at the end of the term?
90 days:
- Decline pension as a County Supervisor
- Meet with people & remain accessible to develop a list of priorities
- ID list of obstacles to business development
- Propose amendment to County’s strategic plan that includes business development
- Propose a “business facilitator” position in the County Executive Officer’s office to help businesses that will create jobs, and fund it out of my salary and office budget.
- ID pension reform goals
One year:
- Begin labor pension reform negotiations
- Create pilot program to waive business development fees
- Enhance campaign finance reform
- Emphasize positive business environment through
- County staff’s attitude
- Freeze on onerous regulations
- General plan update priorities
- End “earmark” budget practice
End of my First Term:
- Create “pay-for-performance” program for County managers
- Performance metrics with true accountability
- ID hard dollar cost efficiencies
- Improve relationships with all stakeholders
- Reduce carbon footprint by increasing East Co services
- Hold myself accountable before deciding for re-election
